Adrian is a geologist with over 40 years of international experience in exploration, project development and mine operations. He has been a member of, or led teams that made gold discoveries at Porgera, PNG; Big Bell, WA; Gross Rosebel, Suriname; Hope Bay, Canada; and White Gold, Yukon, Canada. The White Gold discovery in 2008 resulted from systematic soil geochemistry undertaken by Shawn Ryan. Adrian is a Director of several TSX.V companies.
Speaker 1: Hello Rowan and welcome to today's Fireside Chat, Mining in Newfoundland with Adrian Fleming of Gold Island Resources and Ian Bliss, President and CEO of Northern Shield Resources. Gentlemen, thank you for coming on today. It's a pleasure to have you. And essentially, we're going to be going through a conversation today, Speaker 1: and we're gonna be hearing about everyone's presentations. But to begin with, I'd like to have each of you introduce yourselves and give a short sense of what your experiences are working and exploring in Newfoundland. Speaker 1: Adrian, maybe I'll pass things over to you for it to start. Speaker 2: Sure, Cameron, thank you. And good to have an opportunity to chat here with Ian. Speaker 2: So I'm an Aussie geologist Speaker 2: living in New Zealand. Speaker 2: I've had the good fortune to have been in the gold exploration space now for about 40 years, Speaker 2: which is a long time and tells you how old I am. Speaker 2: But I've been very fortunate to have been involved in a number of projects over those years that became Speaker 2: mines and some of them of a very substantial size. Speaker 2: And let me just mention a couple of those. I think Porgera in Papua New Guinea, which I worked on in the 80s, was probably Speaker 2: the standout project of any I've ever been involved in, other than maybe 1, and I can mention that later. Speaker 2: Then Speaker 2: Big Bell was a project in Western Australia that Speaker 2: we, when I worked for Plasser, Speaker 2: we re-established Speaker 2: a mining operation there. Speaker 2: And then to jump into a totally different part of the world, Speaker 2: I was working with Golden Star Resources and a guy called David Fennell, who's well known to the Canadian mining industry.
