Being located in populated areas, the highest safety design standards will be used for this CO2 storage project. The technical risks will be carefully assessed and mitigated through robust design choices, ensuring the highest possible level of safety throughout all phases. By using international best practices and proven solutions, we aim to design a project that will incorporate the highest level of safety protecting the environment and surrounding communities.
Worley's global team - with contributions from experts in Denmark, London, the Hague, and Mumbai - will carry out the feasibility study, combining local insight with international engineering expertise.
"This award reinforces our commitment to supporting the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors in Europe," said Jan T. Narvestad, SVP Nordics in Worley. "CCS is a critical part of the energy transition, and this project reflects both the growing pace for carbon management in the Nordic region and Worley's capabilities in delivering complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure solutions that enable a lower carbon future."
This feasibility study builds on Worley's extensive experience in CCS projects globally, as governments and industries accelerate efforts to meet net zero targets.
