Fuel retailer Wafi Energy Pakistan plans to invest up to $100mn in the country over the next two to three years, Finance and Revenue Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb said following a meeting with company representatives, according to APP.

The delegation was led by Javaid Akhtar, chief finance officer of Asyad Group and board member, along with Wafi Energy Pakistan chief executive officer Zubair Shaikh and chief finance officer Zarrar Mahmud. Discussions focused on the company’s operations, investment outlook and developments in Pakistan’s oil marketing and broader energy sector.

During the meeting, the finance minister reiterated that maintaining macroeconomic stability remains central to the government’s economic policy, noting that improving economic indicators are helping rebuild investor confidence among both domestic and foreign businesses.

Officials noted that a more predictable economic environment has allowed the company to restart and expand its investment plans following recent business integration efforts.

Wafi Energy Pakistan plans to expand its retail network and storage infrastructure, with investments aimed at network growth, logistics capacity, infrastructure upgrades and technology-led operational improvements.

Company representatives said the planned investments are intended to enhance fuel supply reliability, improve customer service standards and support long-term development of Pakistan’s energy sector.

The delegation also highlighted that the company has already implemented significant digital transformation initiatives across its operations as part of a broader strategy to modernise processes, strengthen transparency and improve compliance with regulatory requirements.
