· Issued by Vestas Wind Systems A/S

Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS), the Danish wind turbine manufacturer, has completed turbine installation across Anthem’s 420MW Northern Cluster wind project in South Africa’s Karoo region.

The company said the final turbine had been installed at the 140MW Ishwati Emoyeni wind farm. The cluster also includes the 140MW Umsinde and 140MW Khangela wind farms.

Vestas installed 96 V163 turbines across the three projects. Anthem says each wind farm comprises 32 Vestas V163 4.5MW turbines, with commercial operation expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.

The company said it has more than 2GW of wind capacity installed or under construction in South Africa.

Anthem, one of South Africa’s largest independent power producers, was launched in 2025 from the integration of African Clean Energy Developments (ACED) and Energy Infrastructure Management Services (EIMS) Africa. The platform is backed by African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM) and the AIIM-managed IDEAS Fund.

Anthem says it develops, finances, builds, owns and operates large scale renewable energy projects, with an asset portfolio of more than 2GW and a greenfield development pipeline of more than 11GW.
