VIS Recognized with CDP's Highest Double "A" Scores for Climate Change and Water Security

Date:2025-12-11

Hsinchu, Taiwan, December 11, 2025 - Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation (VIS, TPEx 5347) announced today that it received leadership-level "A" scores in both Climate Change and Water Security in CDP's 2025 global assessment. VIS was recognized among more than 20,000 companies worldwide for its strong environmental governance and sustainability performance.

CDP is a globally recognized platform for environmental disclosure, using standardized international questionnaires to help companies evaluate and enhance their sustainability management. VIS has actively responded to CDP's Climate Change questionnaire since 2014 and expanded its disclosures to include Water Security in 2022.

This year, VIS achieved the highest "A" scores in 11 of the 16 categories assessed under Climate Change, including "Governance", "Risk Disclosure", "Opportunity Disclosure", "Dependencies, Impacts, Risks and Opportunities Process", "Public Policy Engagement and Industry Collaboration", "Environmental Policies", "Value Chain Engagement", "Emissions Reduction Initiatives and Low Carbon Products", "Scope 1 and 2 Emissions", "Verification (Incl. Emissions)", and "Context". These results highlight VIS' strong progress in climate governance and carbon-reduction initiatives. For Water Security, VIS earned "A" scores in 8 of 11 assessed categories, including "Governance", "Risk Disclosure", "Opportunity Disclosure", "Dependencies, Impacts, Risks and Opportunities Process", "Public Policy Engagement and Industry Collaboration", "Environmental Policies", "Value Chain Engagement", and "Business Strategy", demonstrating the company's commitment to responsible water resource management.

Since 2005, VIS has voluntarily verified its greenhouse gas emissions data, and beginning in 2016, expanded verification to include product carbon footprint and water footprint assessments. VIS adopted the ISO 50001 Energy Management System in 2017 and the ISO 46001 Water Efficiency Management System in 2022, establishing a strong foundation for its net-zero transition and broader sustainability goals.

In line with VIS' sustainability vision, the company joined RE100 in 2022, becoming the first company in Taiwan's semiconductor industry to commit to using 100% renewable energy across its global operations by 2040. VIS has also set a clear net-zero roadmap and is steadily progressing toward its 2050 net-zero emissions goal. In terms of water resource management, VIS continues to promote water-saving processes and increase water recycling to improve efficiency and resilience. Additionally, VIS has adopted the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) and TNFD (TaskForce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) frameworks to systematically identify climate- and nature-related risks and opportunities, integrating response strategies into daily operations to strengthen climate governance and resilience measures.

VIS' sustainability performance has received broad recognition both in Taiwan and globally. In addition to CDP's double "A" scores, VIS has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI) for four consecutive years and the Emerging Markets Index for three consecutive years. The company has also been included in the MSCI Global Standard Index for thirteen consecutive years, the FTSE4Good Index for ten consecutive years, and has ranked among the top 5% of TPEx-listed companies in the Corporate Governance Evaluation for eleven consecutive years. Furthermore, VIS has been honored with the TCSA Top 10 Taiwanese Companies Sustainability Model Award, as well as recognitions from the CommonWealth Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Awards and the GCSA Global Corporate Sustainability Awards.
