NOTIFICATION OF CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA (CBN) APPROVAL OF UNITY BANK PLC/PROVIDUS BANK LTD MERGER
In line with the provisions of Rule 17.3: Information Disclosure, Rulebook of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) 2015, Unity Bank Plc ("The Bank") wishes to inform NGX, our esteemed Shareholders and other Stakeholders that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved the proposal for the merger between Unity Bank Plc and Providus Bank Limited.
The formal regulatory approval will now necessitate further actions towards a formal completion process of the merger. By this development, we are happy to communicate our readiness to comply with the CBN new recapitalization framework for Banks in Nigeria.
Please be assured that the Bank will continue to update NGX, our esteemed shareholders and other stakeholders on the progress in this regard.
