United Fire : UFG appoints Kevin Melaniphy as VP, Great Lakes regional manager

In this role, Melaniphy will be responsible for developing and executing underwriting strategy to drive profitable growth across a six-state territory of Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin, fostering strong agency relationships. "Kevin has a proven track record of excellence and I'm confident that his broad industry experience, deep underwriting expertise and ability to foster strong relationships will translate into continued success for our Great Lakes region," said UFG Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Julie Stephenson. Melaniphy has been a member of UFG since 2024, serving as assistant vice president and branch leader in the company's Western region prior to this appointment. He has over nine years of insurance industry experience, holding various underwriting roles of increasing responsibility at a large national carrier. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance and insurance from Illinois State University.
