MONTREAL, Aug. 10, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Cogeco Diffusion Inc. is currently looking for a full-time Journalist Specializing in Road Network and Traffic matters for its project of a new station entirely dedicated to traffic, road conditions and mass transit, Traffic Radio. Reporting to the Director of Operations, successful candidate shall have the following responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather relevant information, check and edit pieces of news, and see to their broadcast or recording.
- Gather information on site and report coverage on the air whenever assigned to outside broadcasts.
- Conduct interviews by phone or any other means.
- Execute his own editing and recording with the material provided for that purpose.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in communication or journalism, or equivalent experience
- 5 years experience in the field of journalistic information
- Thorough knowledge of geography and the metropolitan road network
- Good knowledge of the public administration field
- Proficiency in the following software: Microsoft Office suite and Outlook
- Demonstrated interest in urban planning and architecture
- Demonstrated ability to convey information in layman's terms
- Strong public speaking skills
- Highly skilled at managing several tasks and/or pieces of information simultaneously
- Developed capacity to work under pressure
- High energy level, strong sense of initiative, and keen interest in taking on challenges
- Excellent knowledge of the English language
- Bilingualism, an asset
- Valid driver's license
