First Half 2024 Financial Results of Unibios Holdings
Increase in Turnover by 12% and EBITDA by 49%
The UNIBIOS HOLDINGS S.A. Group of Companies announced the financial results for the first half of the fiscal year2024 in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
During the first half of fiscal year 2024, consolidated sales of UNIBIOS Group increased by 12%, i.e. from 5,190 thousand Euro to 5.807 thousand Euro. This increase is attributed to the significant increase in sales of the Group's water treatment division, Watera International. Consolidated gross profit in the first half of 2024 increased by 22%with a gross profit margin of 40.0%, compared to 36.7% for the same period of last year.
During the first half of 2024, in accordance with Group's strategy to focus on environmental technologies and markets, the subsidiary Biossol Construction Tools S.A., which was active in the scaffolding market, was placed into liquidation. This decision resulted in an extraordinary investment loss of 401 thousand Euro resulting from the write-off of the relevant goodwill and burdened the half-yearly results of the group. At the same time, an extraordinary deferred tax credit of 377 thousand was recognized. Also, during the first half of 2024, the Group recorded an extraordinary taxable profit of 920 thousand Euro from the revaluation to fair value of its property in the First Industrial Area of Volos. Thisprofit is not included in profit or loss before and after tax.
The Group's results before tax (EBT) in the first half of 2024, including extraordinary loss, amounted to 190 thousand euros against profits of 94 thousand Euro in the previous period. Excluding the above extraordinary loss, profit before tax would be 591 thousand Euro, increased by 497 thousand Euro compared to 94 thousand Euro of the corresponding period of 2023. Profits after Tax amounted to 24 thousand Euro compared to 53 thousand in the comparative period.
Finally, it should be noted that during the first half of 2024, the Group's EBITDA, which excludes extraordinary results, amounted to 891 thousand. Euro increased by 49% compared to 597 thousand Euro for the first halfof 2023.
