TSX Venture : TOO
LAVAL, Canada, Oct. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - Typhoon Exploration Inc. (TSX
Venture: TOO) is pleased to announce significant and promising assay results
reaching up to 34.7 g/t Au (1.01 ounce per tonne) from the 12 drill holes
completed during the Winter 2005 diamond drill campaign at the Company's 100%
owned Fayolle property. Highlights from the Winter 2005 drill campaign
include:
- A total of 8 of the 12 drill holes (FA-05-02, 03, 05, 07, 08, 09, 10
and 11) intersected significant gold mineralization,
- a better definition of the gold-bearing zones in the southwest and
east/north-east, which confirm the 300 metre strike length of the
Fayolle mineralization,
- the gold is generally located within or surrounding intrusives
enriched in iron and carbonates.
Significant gold intervals(x) from the Winter 2005 campaign are presented
in the following table:

Winter 2005 Campaign and Results
--------------------------------
Following the promising results obtained in 2004, 8 out of the 12 diamond
drill holes from the Winter 2005 drilling confirmed the extent of the
mineralization. The best intersection is from FA-05-08 that revealed 6.91 g/t
Au over 7.6 metres, including 12.81 g/t Au over 4.0 metres and 34.70 g/t Au
over 1.0 metres. FA-05-03 revealed a number of intersections grading 1.39 g/t
Au over 54.0 metres, including 6.01 g/t Au over 7.0 metres and 4.37 g/t Au
over 4.0 metres which allows to extend the mineralization to the east. On the
western side of the Fayolle showing, FA-05-05 intersected several mineralized
zones including 3.07 g/t Au over 4.3 metres. Hole FA-05-07 intersected
4.94 g/t Au over 5.0 metres. FA-05-09 intersected three mineralized zones,
including 5.50 g/t Au over 4.0 meters, 6.36 g/t Au over 1.0 meter and
23.76 g/t Au over 0.8 meter. FA-05-10 intersected 9.69 g/t Au over 4.0 meters,
including 21.39 g/t Au over 1.0 meter. FA-05-11 intersected two mineralized
zones of which the best intersection yielded 5.45 g/t Au over 5.3 meters.
These drill holes, combined with those from 2004, confirm the lateral
continuity of several mineralized envelopes in an area of 300 meters by
100 meters trending in a northeast / southwest direction.
Quality Control
---------------
According to a pre-established sampling protocol, half of the diamond
drill core was sampled on lengths varying between 0.3 to 1.5 meter, sealed in
bags, and sent to Laboratoires Expert of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, where they
were assayed for gold using the Fire Assay preparation method and an Atomic
Absorption finish. Results greater than 1 g/t Au were re-assayed using a
gravimetric finish. A quality control program (QA/QC) was established by the
laboratory to insure the precision of the analytical method and results.
The Company had initiated and completed two drill campaigns in 2005 - the
4,485 meters (12 drill holes) Winter 2005 drilling, which began in early
January 2005 was completed on March 30, 2005, whereas the 2,600 meters (6
drill holes) Summer 2005 drilling began on June 15, 2005, and was completed on
July 30, 2005. Assay results for the Winter campaign were all received by
April, 2005; whereas those for the Summer 2005 campaign were all received by
August, 2005. In this release, the Company is reporting assay results from the
Winter 2005 campaign. A second release will be issued shortly that will report
assay results from the Summer 2005 campaign.
The Company has focused over the past several months on core re-
examination to add consistency in lithologies, structures and alteration, and
compiling, verifying and interpreting all of the technical data from the 2004
and 2005 drill campaigns. This work aims at integrating all geological data in
order to produce a more comprehensive and exploration efficient litho-
structural model that will eventually enable better drill targeting in the
future within the Fayolle mineralization envelope, as well as for eventual
resource delineation purposes.
The project is managed by Jean Lafleur, P. Geol. (OGQ), supported by
Alain Carrier, P. Geol. (OGQ) and Luc ThDeberge (M.Sc.) of Innovexplo inc.
Mr. Jean Lafleur, P. Geol. (OGQ), a Qualified Person as defined by National
Instrument 43-101, supervised the preparation of the information in this news
release.
