McBride plc Transaction in Own Shares

McBride plc ("the Company") announces that on 6 April 2011 it purchased, through Investec, 57,000 ordinary shares in the Company at an average price of 143.00 pence per share.  The Company will hold the shares in Treasury to meet options exercised under the McBride plc Savings Related Share Option Scheme to be exercised in 2012.

Following the purchase of these shares the Company holds 651,643 shares in Treasury and has a total of 180,388,658 ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) in issue.
