Tosoh Launches Sales of the HLC-723GX2-a New Glycohemoglobin Analyzer

Tokyo, Japan - Tosoh Corporation has launched sales of the Tosoh Automated Glycohemoglobin Analyzer HLC-723GX2 in Japan on May 14, 2026.

Based on high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)1, the HLC-723GX2 enables rapid, high-precision measurement of HbA1c2 and is the next-generation successor to the HLC-723GX, a compact analyzer designed for point-of-care settings.

As the number of people living with diabetes continues to rise, healthcare facilities are expected to be able to quickly report test results to patients. HbA1c analyzers play a crucial role as indicators for the diagnosis of diabetes and the monitoring of blood glucose control3, and are widely used in hospitals, diabetes clinics, and specialized facilities.

Tosoh launched the HLC-723GX in 2011 for mid-size facilities and specialized facilities such as hospitals and diabetes clinics, offering a compact analyzer characterized by its small footprint, ease of use, and high precision. It has since earned strong recognition in both domestic and international markets. The HLC-723GX2 maintains the same high analytical performance as its predecessor while reducing measurement time per sample from 2.2 minutes on the HLC-723GX to 1.6 minutes. It is also more compact than the HLC-723GX, further contributing to space savings in laboratory settings.

In addition to sales in Japan, the HLC-723GX2 is slated for launch in overseas markets centered on Europe, Africa, Latin America, South America, Southeast Asia, and India.

Total global sales are projected to reach more than 2,000 units within five years of market introduction. Tosoh will continue to expand its market share by introducing new products that address the evolving needs of the testing market.
