TOKAI CARBON CO.,LTD. (the "Company") hereby announces the following extraordinary income in the third quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2025. This gain resulted from the sale of a portion of the investment securities held by the Company.

1. Reason for the sale of investment securities

   In compliance with Japan's Corporate Governance Code, the Company continuously verifies the effectiveness of its investment securities. The Company reviews and determines the appropriateness of their retention, and the said action reflects the outcome of such verification process.

2. Details of the sale of investment securities

   1. Shares sold : Four listed stocks held by the Company

   2. Period of sale : From August 8, 2025 to September 30, 2025

   3. Gain on sale of investment securities : 4,124 million yen (Third quarter of fiscal year 2025)

3. Outlook

The above gain on sale of investment securities are recorded as extraordinary income in the financial statements for the third quarter of the fiscal year 2025.
