30 December 2008 IEOOBIFR8863/GBP/PLUS-exn GREAT WESTERN MINING CORPORATION PLC Third Bulk Sample Test Results Great Western Mining Corporation plc announced today results of the third bulk sample bottle roll leaching tests carried out by an independent American research laboratory which has the capacity for handling radioactive ores. It would appear that the Acid/Cyanide leaching programme is giving the most cost effective recovery of the uranium, gold and silver values. Excerpts of the results are given below: ____________________________________________________________________________________ From: FAX TRANSMITTAL Message: Emmett, I have attached a copy of the datasheets for the Acid/Cyanide leaching of the WT Cohan 481/482 samples at - 10 mesh and ¼" grind. A summary of the recovery throughout the leaches can be found on the first two pages, which shows the uranium recovery in acid leaching as well as the gold and silver recovery in the cyanide leaching. The cyanide leaching detail is in the subsequent pages. The main points of the data are reproduced here (these are on a calculated head basis): Grind Uranium extraction Au Extraction Ag Extraction -10 mesh 98% 84% 73% ¼" 96% 70% 51% You will recall that the bicarbonate/cyanide leaching produced the following: -10 mesh 12% 64% 40% ¼" 13% 54% 33% So a similar trend is seen where the finer grind size produces better extraction. It is clear that the acid leach, while also extracting nearly all the uranium in the ore appears to free up more of the precious metals so they are more completely extracted. A Competent Persons Report is currently being prepared and is expected to recommend a work programme for 2009 intended to determine the extent of the ore body.
