PRESS RELEASE
Ten Alps launches VETS.TV and continues online TV rollout
An online TV service offering specialist programming for vets, has been launched
by Ten Alps, the factual media company, in conjunction with the British
Veterinary Association (BVA). The pilot site www.vets.tv went live at the
British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress.
Ten Alps progress in Online TV
Ten Alps is pioneering similar sector-specific online TV propositions across its
740-strong base of contract-published titles.
Ten Alps has a 75% interest in the media consortium behind the professional
online TV market-leading Teachers TV channel, which has just won a new contract
for the next five years. Ten Alps runs Kent TV, the only fully local
authority-funded service of its kind in the UK, and has Public TV, which is a 14
channel B2B online TV service.
'Ten Alps provided publishing services to the BVA and online TV was a natural
next step,' said Alex Connock, Ten Alps CEO. 'Online TV business models that
really work are increasingly looking like contract publishing, and we are very
well placed to drive that market. This is the first of a number of channels we
are rolling out this year.'
VETS.TV
VETS.TV is available on demand, 24 hours a day and includes specially produced
films on MRSA, litigation and stress management, best practice, a series of
interviews with key veterinary figures and a number of acquired programmes of
interest to vets and animal health practitioners.
BVA President Nick Blayney said:
'I am confident that VETS.TV represents the future of Continuing Professional
Development (CPD.) It will become a significant and popular medium for the
profession since it offers varied and interesting programming covering CPD
sessions, information on broad general interest and practice related subjects.
It will be up-to-date, forward thinking and an information packed service
designed specifically for the veterinary professional and indeed developed in
response to feedback from our members.'
Simon Gallimore, launch editor of VETS.TV said:
'We have been working alongside the BVA to ensure VETS.TV is relevant and useful
to animal health professionals. We believe that vets will welcome the chance to
access and share information which is there, when and where they want it.'
