TechnipFMC wins Eni subsea contract for Baleine Phase 3 off Côte d’Ivoire

· Issued by Technipfmc Plc

TechnipFMC (NYSE: FTI), a US energy technology and subsea services company, has been awarded a subsea contract by Italian energy major Eni (BIT: ENI; NYSE: E) to supply flexible flowlines and risers for the Baleine Phase 3 development offshore Côte d’Ivoire.

The contract will support the fast-track expansion of Baleine, which Eni describes as Côte d’Ivoire’s largest hydrocarbon discovery. TechnipFMC will design and manufacture flexible flowlines and risers to connect wells in about 3,940 feet (1,200 metres) of water to a new floating production unit.

TechnipFMC classifies the award as “significant”, indicating a contract value of between $75mn and $250mn. The award was included in the company’s second-quarter 2026 inbound orders.

The Baleine Phase 3 project is being developed by Eni, Côte d’Ivoire’s national oil company Petroci and commodities trader Vitol. The partners approved the investment in May, with Eni saying all gas produced would be allocated to Côte d’Ivoire’s domestic market to support electricity generation and industrial development.

The third phase is expected to increase Baleine production to 150,000 barrels per day and 200mn cubic feet per day, or about 5.7mn cubic metres per day, of gas, up from more than 62,000 barrels per day and 75mn cubic feet per day, or about 2.1mn cubic metres per day, of gas from the first two phases.

“This award marks the continued expansion of our collaboration with Eni,” said Jonathan Landes, president of Subsea at TechnipFMC. “We are excited to apply our expertise to provide a robust flexible pipe solution with schedule certainty in support of this fast-track project.”
