About this update from Tc Energy Corporation
Media statement - April 29, 2026 Leming Lake Sales Lateral Loop projects in-service Supporting economic growth in Northern Alberta Critical infrastructure investments completed with over $18 million in local subcontracts to connect Alberta's economy to the energy it needs. TC Energy has brought the Leming Lake Sales Lateral Loop projects into service ahead of schedule and under budget, connecting Alberta's oil sands with natural gas, supporting the regional economy and delivering over $18M in regional subcontracts to Indigenous and local businesses. Located near Lac La Biche and northwest of Bonnyville, the projects added 35 km of new pipeline adjacent to the critical NGTL System. Increasing local capacity on this essential infrastructure connects low-cost natural gas from the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) with markets, supports Canadian jobs and enables economic development across Alberta and beyond. Delivered concurrently, the Leming Lake projects were completed through disciplined planning, execution excellence and strong partnerships with Indigenous and local communities. That approach helped: Reduce costs by taking advantage of favourable market conditions. Reduce regulatory timelines by leveraging the efficient Canadian Energy Regulator Act, section 214, regulatory process and working collaboratively with the regulator to ensure timely post-construction approvals. Lower emissions and lessen traffic by shortening the construction window. Minimize community and roadway disruptions while enhancing safety. Bring economic benefits and local natural gas capacity to the region sooner. The projects reflect TC Energy's strategic focus on disciplined execution-maximizing the value of our assets through safety and operational excellence. View the NGTL System on our Operations Map.
