Taiwanese industrial conglomerate TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd.(TWSE: 1504) has finalised a definitive acquisition agreement with Malaysian engineering firm Dynaciate Engineering Sdn. Bhd., marking a major cross-border expansion into Southeast Asia’s booming Artificial Intelligence Data Centre (AIDC) pipeline, Yahoo Finance reports.
The corporate takeover, formalised during an executive signing ceremony on May 25, involves a strategic capital deployment of approximately MYR200mn (around $50.8mn). Under the terms of the agreement, TECO will acquire a dominant 78% equity ownership stake in Dynaciate, absorbing the firm’s massive manufacturing assets directly into its global supply chain network.
Through this majority acquisition, TECO will repurpose Dynaciate's heavy-industrial operations, serving as its primary global manufacturing and engineering node for prefabricated Modular Data Centres (MDC) and high-voltage power distribution equipment.
The acquisition offers distinct geographical and regulatory advantages, with Dynaciate's strategic headquarters and fabrication plants located within the Pasir Gudang Industrial Area of Johor Bahru, Malaysia, the absolute epicentre of Southeast Asia's hyper-scaling data centre gold rush. The industrial footprint spans 36,000 square metres and includes eight advanced production bays optimised for stainless-steel and carbon-steel metallurgy. Because the Johor facilities qualify for extensive local export tax incentives, TECO can utilise the site to bypass regional trade friction and seamlessly export prefabricated computing structures to international markets.
The corporate consolidation is set to fundamentally reshape TECO’s revenue mix, allowing it to capitalise on the high-margin hardware demands of next-generation AI workloads. Consequently, data centre-related revenue within TECO's core Power & Energy Business Group is forecast to experience exponential growth, surging from under 10% last year to a dominant 30% share of total business group revenue by the end of 2026, establishing the sector as the company's premier financial growth engine.
