Taiheiyo Cement signs Soil Stabilization Business Agreement with PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Group Taiheiyo Cement Corporation (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Yoshifumi Taura) and its subsidiary PT Taiheiyo International Indonesia (Headquarters: South Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia; hereinafter "TII") have signed a Soil Stabilization Business Agreement with "SIG" *1, along with its group companies "SBI" *2and "MKI" *3, to collaborate on a joint Soil Stabilization Business in Indonesia.Taiheiyo Cement, SIG, and SBI have collaborated since entering into a business partnership agreement in 2020, working together in various areas including export operations, soil stabilizers, and research and development. Indonesia is particularly susceptible to earthquakes and volcanic activity, and approximately 10% of its land area consists of soft ground. As a result, demand for soil stabilization is expected to increase further to ensure infrastructure stability.
Under this AGREEMENT, Taiheiyo Cement and TII, in collaboration with Taiheiyo Cement's subsidiary Onoda Chemico Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinichi Otsuka), will apply the soil stabilization technologies developed within the Taiheiyo Cement Group. By integrating these technologies with the manufacturing and sales capabilities of the SIG Group, the parties aim to expand soil stabilization operations in Indonesia. This initiative will enable a stable supply of soil stabilizers and contribute to market development as well as the enhancement of social infrastructure.
The Taiheiyo Cement Group will continue to support infrastructure development and the realization of a circular economy in the Pacific Rim region, pursuing sustainable growth for the future.
