Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation Donates Claver Community Hospital to Claver Municipality

Tokyo, Japan - Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (TSE: 5713) is pleased to announce that Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation (THPAL), a nickel smelting subsidiary of Sumitomo Metal Mining in Claver, Surigao del Norte, Philippines, has donated Claver Community Hospital to the Municipality of Claver. A turnover ceremony was held in Claver on July 30, 2026 for the hospital, which THPAL has supported in construction.

Claver Community Hospital was built to provide more accessible and higher-quality medical care to residents of Claver and the its surrounding municipalities. Construction began in May 2024 and completed on June 2026, the majority of the total construction cost was funded by THPAL as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.

Going forward, Sumitomo Metal Mining will continue to contribute to the sustainable development of the local communities, in line with its commitment to "Co-Existence and Mutual Prosperity with Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples," one of the material issues for its long-term vision.
