Sumitomo Chemical : Announces Reorganization

Sumitomo Chemical hereby announces that, as of April 1, 2026, the Company will implement a reorganization as follows.

1. Head Office

   To strengthen collaboration the Company-wide R&D structure and enhance its corporate research function, Sumitomo Chemical will reorganize the Research Planning and Coordination Department into two new departments. These new departments will be the Research Planning Department, which will be responsible for planning and coordination functions related to technologies and research and development across the whole Company, and the Corporate Research Planning and Coordination Department, which will be responsible for the promotion and management of topics related to corporate research.

2. Corporate R&D Laboratories

   To optimize and enhance the commercialization studies for topics related to corporate research, as well as enhance its foundational technologies, the Company will merge the Environmental Health Science Research Laboratory, Advanced Materials Development Laboratory, and Bioscience Research Laboratory to form the new Advanced Foundational Technologies Laboratory. In addition, Corporate R&D Laboratories will be renamed to the Corporate Research Laboratories.
