About this update from Stockland
Link to images Stockland Lyra has opened its first park, Newpark Reserve, within its masterplanned community, marking a major milestone for the growing neighbourhood. Spanning 12,000 square metres, Newpark Reserve offers a range of family-friendly amenities including a children's playground, bike bump track, basketball half-court, turfed kick-about space, and shaded seating -designed to encourage outdoor activity and connection among residents. The park complements existing nearby amenities such as supermarkets, schools, and transport links which are all just a short drive away, and easily accessible to the 130 residents who already call Lyra home. This new green space also reflects Stockland's broader vision for Lyra, which will eventually include a community facility, two government schools, a town centre, train station, indoor recreation centre, sports reserve, wetlands, and an additional local park. Sai Shivani, a resident at Lyra, said their family is already enjoying the park and using it as an opportunity to connect with neighbours. "My son absolutely loves the park, especially the basketball court. He plays on it almost every day, sometimes even twice. It's been wonderful to see him outdoors, making new friends, and really feeling part of the community. "For us, the park has made settling into Lyra feel effortless and we are really looking forward to watching the community grow around it," Shivani said. To celebrate the park's opening, Stockland hosted a community fun day attended by more than 200 locals. Residents enjoyed reptile displays, a visit from the CFA, face painting, a live DJ, and delicious food including a community BBQ and pies from the local bakery. Stockland's Senior Development Manager, Sara Nguyen said: "We know parks and open spaces are at the heart of connected communities. With Newpark Reserve now open, we're bringing our vision for Lyra to life - creating a place where every family has access to diverse recreation close to home and where green spaces are seamlessly woven into everyday life." "Providing vibrant amenities that everyone can enjoy is a core focus for us, and we're proud to create parks within walking distance of every home - helping Lyra grow as a happy, healthy and thriving community." Ms Nguyen said. For a limited time, Stockland is offering homebuyers at its Lyra community up to $15,000 in savings, with additional benefits available through government grants and concessions. Stockland Lyra is located just over 50 kilometres from Melbourne's CBD in the city's growing northern corridor; Stockland Lyra offers a unique opportunity to be part of a flourishing new community.
