Trading Symbol: SFR: TSX-Venture VANCOUVER, March 15 /CNW/ - Starfire Minerals Inc. wishes to clarify that it requested a halt of its stock on March 14, 2006 in order to permit dissemination of information with respect to its upcoming Annual General Meeting. A news release relating to the Company's AGM and matters to be discussed at the seminar to be held immediately thereafter was disseminated this morning and we refer you to that news release for important information on the AGM and seminar regarding the proposed "spin-out" of Starfire Nickel Inc. into a new public company. The halting of the Company's stock yesterday was in no way connected with the TSX Venture Exchange's bulletin of March 14, 2006 whereby the Exchange approved the Company's issuance of 50,000 shares as a debt settlement for $17,500. This debt settlement was for an old account originally invoiced for $107,000 in cash and 100,000 shares that has been on the Company's books for many years which was recently amicably resolved. In accordance with Canadian securities laws, the shares issued in relation to this debt settlement will be subject to a hold period expiring on July 16, 2006. The Company apologizes for any confusion that may have resulted from the unfortunate timing of the dissemination of the foregoing. ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF STARFIRE MINERALS INC.
