Starfire announces preliminary assay results from first five drill holes on Capri-I uranium property Grand Remous, Quebec

· Issued by Sandfire Resources America Inc. via CNW
VANCOUVER, Sept. 7 /CNW/ - Starfire Minerals Inc. (SFR:TSX-V) announces
having received the assay results from Lakefield Laboratories, Ontario on its
first five drill holes from the Capri I grid. In addition the company has
filed an updated NI43-101 report with SEDAR for the Capri property based on
the 2005 field program. The report was compiled by A. Ciesielski, DSc., P.
Geol., project geologist.
The NI43-101 report outlines geology, mineralization, previous work and
the current exploration program. Past exploration work as discussed in detail
in the NI43-101 report included work that was carried out by McCannel (1970)
who delineated several target zones containing up to 60m of radioactive
diopsidite that may carry 5 million tons of mineralization per 300m of strike
length. It was postulated at that time that the length could extend, based on
radiometrics, for 3km on the property. The best results from the drilling
under the 1970 program came from what is called the Main Zone (Zone 4) and are
shown below in Table 1:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Work by others in 1971 delineated 5-target Zones with intersections
between 0.66 and 1.96 pounds per metric ton of U3O8. These areas of past
drilling and works were targeted by the Company for the first phase of diamond
drilling.
The Company's 2005 drilling program focused on 2 areas: the Main Zone
(Zone 4); and the Ramy Zone (Zone 2). The Company completed 1700m of NQ
drilling at 21 drill hole locations within these two zones. Assay results for
the first 5 drill holes have been received and the highlights are shown in
Table 2.

As a result of the positive assays from the first 5 drill holes
additional infill sampling will be conducted on the cores from all 21 holes to
further evaluate the exploration model of a bulk tonnage open-pit target.
Assay results from an additional 16 drill holes are pending.
Sampling and mapping on Capri Grid II (to the east of Grid I) identified
several anomalous pegmatitic units where 10 grab and chip samples were taken.
Pending positive assay results, the Company believes that drill targets can be
established within these areas.
Grid III (to the west of Grid I) comprises two north-south trending
granitic-pegmatitic units that span the length of the grid for about 350 m.
Fourteen panel and channel samplings from this area identified some anomalous
areas which provided positive results (see PR dated Aug. 29). An additional 17
samples were taken with a rock saw from the same geological unit along strike
in late August and were submitted for assay. The Company plans to test the
identified anomalous zone on Grid III and will expand to test other anomalous
zones along strike pending positive assay results from the latest sampling.
The Company is awaiting assay results from 16 drill holes from Capri Grid
I. Further diamond drilling on the Main Zone within the Capri I grid will be
conducted following the evaluation of all the assay results. The assay results
from Lakefield Laboratories will be published, as the information is made
available.
