SoftBank Group Corp. said Sunday it will develop and operate data centers with total capacity of 5 gigawatts for artificial intelligence in France, with an investment of up to 75 billion euros ($87 billion).
An initial investment of 45 billion euros will deliver 3.1 gigawatts of capacity in centers in northern France by 2031, as part of the Japanese tech conglomerate's largest AI infrastructure investment in Europe, it said.
SoftBank Group plans to develop additional sites across France, reinforcing the country's role as a leading European hub for next-generation digital infrastructure, it added.
