Italian gas storages will be full before the start of the winter heating season, the CEO of the country's gas transport operator Snam MIL:SRG said on Wednesday.Italian storages are currently 65% full, 20 percentage points higher than the average level in Europe, Snam's Agostino Scornajenchi said, speaking on the sidelines of a business conference in Milan."We hope that a solution (to unblock) the Hormuz strait will allow other European countries, which are much further behind, to start building up storage ... The market seems to believe it," Scornajenchi said.European Union member states need to build a gas buffer during the northern hemisphere summer to reach an EU-imposed 90% storage target between October and the beginning of December.
