Sirit Introduces its INfinity Micro

TORONTO, April 4 /CNW/ - Sirit Inc. (TSX: SI), a leading provider of
radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, introduces the latest member
of its INfinity line of embedded RFID modules, the INfinity Micro. Derived
from the architecture of the Plug-n-Play high frequency (HF) modules launched
in early March 2006, the INfinity Micro is designed to address the increasing
trend of mass market devices towards smaller and thinner form-factors.
Supporting a wide spectrum of protocols including ISO 14443A/B, ISO
15693, ISO 18000-3, INSIDE PicoTag(TM), HID iClass(R), Tagsys C320,
FeliCa(TM), and eNFC, the INfinity Micro is ideally suited for a wide array of
secure transaction applications such as cashless payments, access control and
identity or product verification.
"The INfinity Micro is a natural evolution from our line of Plug-n-Play
readers particularly where a customer has evaluated and proven their use case
and is ready to move to an embedded solution," commented Mike Allocco, Vice
President, RF Solutions, Sirit Inc. "Since the architecture is exactly the
same as the SDIO and USB readers, our customers can be assured that the
performance of their product will remain unchanged."
Along with this latest offering, Sirit has entered into a collaboration
agreement with AirGATE Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the
X-Change Corporation (OTC BB: XCHC), to provide the INfinity Micro module for
use in the law enforcement industry and Homeland Security applications.
AirGATE has been using Sirit's INfinity 166 module in its RFID enabled
telephone solution being provided through SECURUS to correctional facilities
nationwide and plans to migrate the solution to utilize the new INfinity Micro
module. The RFID enabled phone unit reads the inmate identification from the
inmate wristband when a phone call is made.
"We are impressed with the performance of the new Sirit INfinity Micro
module which is well suited for our telephone solution due to its low power
requirement and small form factor," commented Mike Sherrif, President and CEO
of AirGATE Technologies, Inc. "With over 3,100 correctional facilities in
North America and US inmates alone making over 1,000,000 phone calls per day,
it's imperative that we can deliver a reliable solution. Working with a market
leader like Sirit, will be a key part to ensuring our ultimate success."
