On April 28, Sinoma Tianjin and SPA CILAS (Ciment LAFARGE SOUAKRI) of Algeria signed EPC contract for Algeria 5000t/d clinker production line. Mr. Souakri, Chairman of CILAS, Mr. Luc Callebat, CEO of Lafarge Algeria and Mr. Tong Laigou, Vice president of Sinoma International attended the signing ceremony.
The BISKRA project is invested by SPA CILAS Cement Company, which is a joint venture co-invested by Lafarge Group and Souakri Company of Algeria and this project is located in BISKRA city which is in the northeast of Algeria.
The green field project adopts EPC model and the scope of the project includes design, equipment supply, civil construction, installation, training and commissioning.
The signing of this Algeria BISKRA project has great significance to Sinoma. Firstly, this is the cooperation with Lafarge after the project in Russia four years ago and it is also a project wholly led by Lafarge in the post global financial period, which demonstrates the full endorsement given by Lafarge. In the meantime, it is also a continuation of the almost 20-year cooperation between the two companies. Secondly, this project is the first new cement project wholly invested by the private sector. The signing and implementation of this project will greatly affect the future Algerian cement market. Thirdly, following the raw mill upgrading project of ZAHANA plant of GICA group, this is Sinoma's second project in Algeria and it is also the first EPC project, which signifies that Sinoma not only wins endorsement for the public sector but also from the private sector. It promotes further exploration in Algerian market and strengthens our influence in North African cement market.
