The flight departs again at 5:29 am for Milan Malpensa Airport, injecting new momentum into trade relations between China and Europe. This new route strengthens Pudong Airport's position as a comprehensive international logistics hub. In November 2025, Shanghai Airport Authority (AVINEX) signed a strategic cooperation agreement with MSC Air Cargo. The partnership focuses on leveraging the strengths of both parties in global networks and multimodal transportation. Pudong Airport will serve as MSC Air Cargo's strategic gateway in the Asia-Pacific region, with a focus on supply chain upgrades, digital cargo, and sustainable logistics practices. This service will transport high-value, time-sensitive goods such as cold chain products, pharmaceuticals, and fresh produce, further strengthening the "Air Silk Road" for exports from Shanghai. AVINEX is expanding its cargo network, aiming to serve 63 destinations in 31 countries by 2025. The airport expects to handle an annual cargo volume of 4.5 million metric tons, setting a new record.
