Sandoz climate targets validated by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

· Issued by Sandoz Group Ltd

Sandoz, the global leader in affordable medicines, today announced that its targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi is an independent climate action organisation that enables companies to understand how much and how quickly they must decarbonise to prevent the worst impacts of climate change.

Sandoz is now working towards the following SBTi-validated targets:

  • To reduce emissions from our own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 42% by 2030, and by 63% by 2035, compared to a 2024 baseline.
  • To ensure that at least 79% of our suppliers by emissions covering purchased goods and services, capital goods, and upstream transportation and distribution will have science-based targets by 2030.
