Turnkey Package with Gen 2 RFID Reader can be implemented in 30 days or
less
TORONTO, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - SAMSys Technologies Inc. (SMY: TSX), an
international provider of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) hardware
solutions, today announced the availability of the Gen 2 RFID Pilot Express
program, which includes a turnkey RFID hardware and software package that
makes it possible to launch pilot RFID programs using the new EPC Global Gen 2
protocol in 30 days or less.
The kit includes the latest SAMSys RFID reader and other components to
aid Gen 2 preparations by systems integrators and end user suppliers who must
comply with RFID mandates from major retailers and the Department of Defense
(DoD). Contents include:
- SAMSys MP9320 v2.8 multi-protocol reader
- Two antennas
- Light stack and other peripherals
- Gen 2 software
- Sample Gen 2 tags from Texas Instruments
- RAPID (SAMSys RFID Application Programming Interface for Developers)
- Quick Start Guide
"The upcoming release of Gen 2 tags is creating demand by many
organizations to embrace the Gen 2 platform, and SAMSys has recognized the

participate in this RFID Pilot Express initiative because the bundle that
SAMSys is offering will make it possible to quickly prepare for Gen 2 programs
with best-of-breed components available from a single source."

For a limited time, RFID Pilot Express is available at a special package
price of $1,999, roughly half the cost of purchasing the components
separately. SAMSys will be showcasing the kit at the EPC Global show in
Atlanta from Sept. 13-15.
