Morgan Advanced Materials: Q3 Trading Update

· Issued by Morgan Advanced Materials plc via RNS

Summary by 6ix AI

Morgan Advanced Materials, which makes advanced ceramics and carbon systems, said group sales for the nine months to September 30, 2026 were 4.9% higher than a year earlier on an adjusted basis. It now expects adjusted operating profit for 2026 to be around the upper end of the range of analysts' expectations.

Key details

  • Company-compiled analyst expectations for 2026 adjusted operating profit are in the range £100.0m to £105.0m.
  • The 4.9% sales growth is on an organic constant currency basis, meaning it strips out currency movements and changes from acquisitions or sales of businesses. It also excludes a £8.9m phasing benefit from a Semiconductor take-or-pay contract, a contract where the customer pays for agreed volumes whether or not it takes them.
  • The company says growth continued in areas including Aerospace and Energy, and that industrial end-markets held up.
  • The group is carrying out a strategic review of its Thermal Products division, with options including a potential disposal. It says a number of potential buyers have shown interest and it is now starting to engage formally with potential buyers.
  • Full year results are currently scheduled for March 11, 2027.

What’s still pending

  • The 2026 profit outlook is an expectation, not a final result.
  • No decision has been made on a disposal of the Thermal Products division, and a full range of options remains under consideration.
