Petrovietnam Power HOSE:POW and South Korea's SK Innovation KRX:096770 on Monday started construction of an LNG-fired power plant with a price tag of $2.2 billion, the Vietnam government said.The 1,500-megawatt Quynh Lap plant in Nghe An province is scheduled to start commercial power generation by 2030, the government said in a statement.Vietnam is seeking to develop a fleet of LNG power plants with combined capacity of 22.5 gigawatts by the end of this decade.The country currently has two operational LNG power plants, Nhon Trach 3 and Nhon Trach 4 in the southern province of Dong Nai.
