PetroReconcavo has finalised the purchase of a 50% stake in natural gas midstream infrastructure in Rio Grande do Norte from Brava Energia’s subsidiary 3R Potiguar, OE reported.
The deal includes two gas processing units with capacities of 1.5mn cubic metres per day each, one operational (NGPU III) and one currently hibernated (NGPU II).
PetroReconcavo paid BRL168.8mn ($31.7mn) for the stake, in addition to BRL127.9mn ($24mn) previously disbursed in two instalments.
The first payment followed the initial agreement on June 5, 2025, while the second was made after Brazil’s antitrust authority, CADE, approved the transaction on July 25. The remaining 15% will be settled through subsequent instalments.
The assets will be governed by a joint operating agreement, with Brava maintaining its role as operator. “The operations committee, comprising representatives from both companies, will set budgetary, cost, and efficiency rules for the management of the units,” the companies said.
In a related development, Brava Energia extended its contract with Solstad Offshore for the AHTS Normand Turmalina vessel, built in 2006, through early 2029.
