Oyster Renewable, Jindal Stainless commission 315.6-MW hybrid project

Oyster Renewable Energy Private Limited and Jindal Stainless have partly commissioned a 315.6 MW solar-wind hybrid renewable energy project in Agar-Malwa, Madhya Pradesh, POWERLINE reports.

The development, backed by a total investment of over INR20bn (approximately $213mn), includes a committed contribution of INR1.32bn from Jindal Stainless. The project spans both Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, comprising around 216 MW of solar and wind capacity in Madhya Pradesh and an additional 99 MW in Gujarat.

According to reports, commissioning is being carried out in phases. The hybrid configuration, co-located on a single site, integrates bifacial solar modules mounted on tracker systems alongside Suzlon 3.15-MW wind turbines. The project is intended to support Jindal Stainless’s industrial decarbonisation efforts, providing renewable power to its operations while enhancing efficiency through combined solar and wind generation.
