About this update from Scandinavian Astor Group Ab
Scandinavian Astor Group ABScandinavian Astor Group AB (publ) ("Astor Group" or the "Company") announces that its subsidiary Oscilion EW Systems ("Oscilion") has entered into a collaboration with Swedish battery manufacturer Altris, with the aim of offering the Swedish Armed Forces a new generation of robust, climate-adapted, and sustainable energy storage solutions. The new sodium-ion-based battery module, which has been developed and is manufactured in the Nordic region for Nordic conditions, is free from critical raw materials such as lithium, cobalt, and nickel, and is designed to meet military requirements for performance, safety, and self-sufficiency. The collaboration has already resulted in the first customer orders."We see a clear need for reliable battery solutions adapted to Nordic conditions within total defense. Through its collaboration with Altris, Oscilion can now offer military batteries that, in addition to performing very well in cold conditions, also combine secure energy storage with technical and industrial independence. Being able to manufacture these in Sweden, and moreover with a European supply chain, is an important strategic reinforcement for both our customers and Europe's overall supply capacity", says Mattias Hjorth, CEO of Scandinavian Astor Group. The module is optimized for Nordic climate conditions and can be stored and discharged for long periods without damage, offering the life cycle and reliability required in the defense and emergency preparedness sectors. The battery cells are manufactured in Sweden, at Altris' production facility in Uppsala, which further strengthens the regional security of supply. Unlike most of today's battery systems and battery cells, which are manufactured in China and depend on critical raw materials with limited availability, this collaboration is based on an entirely European value chain - from raw materials to production. This eliminates geopolitical risks, strengthens European security of supply, and enables a higher degree of self-sufficiency for total defense. The areas of application are broad, including power supply for drone systems, military vehicles, backup power banks, command posts, radio systems, and sensor nodes. The batteries can be manufactured in any form factor, enabling integration into both newly developed and existing military platforms. The module is also adapted to pow...
