Message from the Chief Financial Officer
I am pleased to present Origin's 2025 Tax Contribution Report, detailing the taxes we paid during FY25.
Origin's disclosure in this report aligns with the recommendations of the Board of Taxation's voluntary Tax Transparency Code, which aims to increase transparency around how much tax businesses pay and why.
Origin is transparent about its tax affairs and complies with all applicable tax laws and regulations. Origin manages tax risks associated with its activities in line with Origin's risk management framework and applicable ATO guidelines.
Origin plays a prominent role in the Australian tax system. In FY25, Origin paid $844 million to federal and state governments comprising income tax, payroll tax, excise, and fringe benefits tax. This amount consists predominantly of income tax for which Origin has maintained its high assurance rating under the ATO justified trust assurance program.
Origin creates significant economic value through the performance of its Integrated Gas and Energy Markets divisions. In addition to paying taxes, Origin contributes to Australia's economic growth through employment, procurement of goods and services and community and infrastructure investments.
Origin is proud of the positive contribution the company continues to make to the communities in which it operates and the broader Australian economy
