Simplifying utility vehicle electrification
While the electrification of passenger vehicles is already well underway, the electrification of Orange's 5,500 mobile utility vehicles in France presents a major operational challenge. For operational teams, each trip and intervention must be organized to guarantee service continuity and optimal productivity.
To scale this transition successfully, Orange relies on the Nelson Electrify solution, a "digital twin" capable of accurately simulating real fleet usage to ensure each electric transition is successful.
By analyzing fuel card data and route information, Nelson identifies vehicles that could be easily replaced by electric vehicles. This fact-based approach helps avoid misallocations and ensures vehicles will meet the everyday needs of users.

A strong ambition: 40% of electric vehicle orders by 2026
The partnership follows a successful pilot conducted in the south-west of France. This test validated the added value of Nelson's solution in identifying electrification opportunities.

For 2026, the goal is ambitious: to increase the share of electric utility vehicle orders to 40%, up from 17% in 2025. To achieve this, Nelson's analysis is directly integrated into the renewal process managed by the Vehicle Management Department (DGV), facilitating decision-making for regional managers.

According to Alexandre Nepveu, Director of the vehicle fleet: "Electrifying our utility vehicles is a key lever for decarbonization for the Group. Nelson's solution provides us with the visibility needed to transform our fleet without operational compromises. By relying on precise route data and robust simulation, Nelson becomes a facilitator for this change. This three-year partnership demonstrates our determination to meet our CSR objectives and our trajectory toward 100% electric vehicles by 2030. This aligns with our strategic plan, Trust the future."
