Revised date for last day of dealings
The expected timetable for the remaining steps in the Acquisition is set out
below. The only revision from the previously announced timetable is that the
last day of dealings in DFS Shares is now expected to be 29 October 2004.

Final Hearing Date (to confirm the Capital Reduction) 1 November 2004 *
Effective Date of the Scheme 2 November 2004 *
Delisting of DFS Shares 3 November 2004 *
Latest date for despatch of cheques and the PE 16 November 2004 *
