Notification of Results
The results for the half-year ended 2 April 2004 will be published on 23 June
2004.
At the AGM Michael Rusch, Chairman, reported the Group had been selected for
certain important new contracts and that an announcement would be made in due
course.
Some of these contracts have now been awarded and LPA is pleased to announce
that it has won three major new contracts with a combined value of approximately
£2.4m.
LPA Niphan has been awarded two contracts, for a further supply of stand by
battery, power supply and distribution rafts for Diesel Electric Multiple Unit
rail vehicles and also, for inter vehicle electrical jumper equipment for an
Electric Multiple Unit rail vehicle refurbishment project.
LPA Excil Electronics has been awarded a contract to supply a lighting system
for a Metro Vehicle refurbishment project.
Both LPA Channel Electric and LPA Haswell Engineers will be involved in the
projects as sub contractors.
Other significant contracts are in prospect, which if won will also involve all
Group companies.
Peter Pollock, Chief Executive commented:
'These new orders and prospects are very encouraging. The Group is recovering
from the major set backs suffered in recent years and is beginning to make
progress. These orders, and others expected soon, will underpin the second half,
but, particularly since they are deliverable over a long period, they will
support progress over the next two years.'
