(Photo Credit: Northrop Grumman) AZUSA, Calif. - April 30, 2026 - (PHOTO RELEASE) Northrop Grumman Corporation continues to advance the U.S. Space Force missile warning mission with an on-time, on-budget management of the critical Next-Generational Overhead Persistent Infrared Polar Program (NGP). As the prime contractor for NGP, the company took delivery of the Mission Payload Sensor Subassembly, an OPIR sensor designed to improve missile warning capabilities by detecting faint heat signatures from ballistic and hypersonic threats. NGP will monitor the Northern Hemisphere around the clock and is essential for achieving total, nonstop polar coverage.
