During FY2026, KCGM's Fimiston Processing Plant recorded one significant cyanide incident requiring notification to ICMI. On 20 February 2026, a contractor process technician experienced cyanide exposure and was hospitalised for observation before being discharged after approximately 6 hours. There were no fatalities and no release of cyanide to the external environment.
