VANCOUVER, Oct. 19 /CNW/ - Further to the press release dated September
6, 2006, Nortec Ventures Corp., ("Nortec" or the "Company"), is pleased to
announce the completion of helicopter-borne, deep penetrating Time-Domain
Electromagnetic ("TDEM") and Magnetic surveys on the Koillismaa - Naranka
Nickel-Copper-PGE project ("Koillismaa - Naranka") located in Northeastern
Finland.
The geophysical surveys were carried out by SkyTEM Aps, a Danish
airborne-geophysical survey company based in Aarhus, Denmark. SkyTEM's Time
Domain Electromagnetic system with a central loop configuration is designed to
provide high resolution to delineate conductivity contrasts, and a large
penetration depth. A total of nearly 1500 line kilometres was flown on the
Koillismaa - Naranka reservation and claims area with a line spacing of 100
metres and the control lines at 1000 metres. The geophysical field data is at
present being processed and put together for analyses, interpretation and 3D
modeling to be performed by Condor Consulting of Lakewood, Colorado, USA.
Preliminary results are expected in the coming weeks. This survey will assist
in locating potential magmatic massive sulphide targets directly from any
airborne anomalies. If successful, the survey will be followed by scout
diamond core drilling of approximately 4,000 metres.
In June 2006, the Company entered into an option agreement with Akkerman
Exploration B.V. ("AEbv"), of the Netherlands to form a 70:30 joint venture on
the Koillismaa - Naranka project. AEbv controls three claim reservations and
has applied for 23 exploration licences (18 of which have already been
granted), together covering a surface area of approximately 40 square
kilometers.
