NextNav : Statement on House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology PNT Hearing

About this update from Nextnav Inc.

Today the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology announced that it will be holding a hearing titled, "Where Are We?: Examining Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Capabilities in the United States" on Thursday, June 4 th at 10:15 AM ET. The official hearing notice is available here . The following can be attributed to Renee Gregory, NextNav's Vice President of Regulatory Affairs: GPS underpins modern infrastructure and relying on one system leaves America vulnerable. Addressing this risk requires swift, decisive government action to build resilience into our Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) infrastructure. We are pleased that the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Communications and Technology is examining this issue and holding an educational hearing titled, Where Are We?: Examining Positioning, Navigation, and Timing Capabilities in the United States . NextNav's proposal before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) leverages our licensed spectrum and the existing 5G ecosystem to provide an additional layer of protection to serve as a complement and backup to GPS. We are proud to stand by the engineering we have submitted to the FCC and believe our ground-based, 5G-powered 3D PNT solution can provide the nation with a near-term solution that has significant national security, public safety, and economic benefits at no expense to taxpayers.
