MONTREAL, May 14 /CNW/ - Montec Holdings Inc., (TSX-V: MTE), a holding company focused on acquiring and developing a diversified portfolio of high-growth technology companies, today announced changes in its Board of Directors, as well as the appointment of a new Chief Financial Officer. Montec's management team saw fit to operate these key changes to reflect the Company's new operational standpoint. Having graduated from a capital pool company to a full public company in December 2006, Montec now intends to implement its acquisition strategy and engage its business plan in the next financial phase to ensure its growth. Key appointments were necessary to efficiently meet these upcoming challenges.
As of May 14, 2007, Montec's Board of Director has appointed Mr. Vincent Belanger as interim Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Belanger is Chartered Accountant, with over seventeen years of experience with technology companies. He is President of CFO Solution Inc. Having worked for 12 years at KPMG, mainly in the corporate finance field, he then became Chief Financial Officer of a company which he brought to a Nasdaq National Market listing and for which he raised important financings. Lately, M. Belanger has been Chief Financial Officer of TSX-V listed companies, where he implemented rigorous administrative structures in rapidly growing environments and concluded important public financings. The Board has accepted Mr. Jan Holland's resignation as Secretary of the Corporation as of April 11th, 2007 and as Director and Chief Financial Officer as of May 3, 2007. Montec Holdings is grateful for the services he rendered to the Company as a member of its Board of Directors and as Chief Financial Officer.
As of April 26, 2007, Montec's Board of Directors appointed Mr. David Williams as Director of Montec Holdings Inc., replacing Mr. Jan Holland. Mr. Williams has also been appointed a member of the Audit Committee. Mr. Williams is a lawyer with a practice focused on technology-driven and international clients. Mr. Williams was a member of leading Canadian law firms (the Quebec predecessors of Fasken Martineau and Borden Ladner Gervais) as well as having worked in the West African office of a U.S. firm (Duncan, Allen, Mitchell). He served as in-house counsel for General Electric, responsible for its hydro power generation business. He established the legal department of Ericsson Canada Inc., served as its General Counsel from 1992 until 2004. Mr. Williams is a graduate of Dartmouth College, Hanover, New Hampshire, the University of California at Los Angeles, and the University of Montreal.
The Board of Directors also appointed Mr. Albert Ho as Secretary of the Corporation to replace Mr. Jan Holland. Mr. Ho will continue to exercise his functions as Chief Operating Officer of Montec Holdings Inc. Mr. Ho is an established industry veteran with more 25 years of experience in senior management and technical positions with Nortel Networks Corporation, with GPT (now Marconi Communications) and Mitec Telecom Inc. He is accomplished in the fields of program management, business development, and hardware and software development. Mr. Ho was awarded Top Talent by Nortel Networks Corporation in 2000. He holds a of Bachelor Science (Honors) from the University of Newcastle, England and is a Member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET).
