Medicalgorithmics has signed an agreement with Peru-based distributor Sharp Tech, marking the company’s entry into the South American market, the Warsaw-listed medical technology firm said on January 19.

The contract covers the distribution in Peru of the DRP software platform, DRAI algorithms, and the Kardiobeat.ai and Pocket ECG devices, according to the statement.

The deal follows several months of promotional and marketing activity across Latin America, including participation in industry conferences, the company said.

“This agreement with a Peruvian distributor allows us to offer our services and devices in Peru, creating a base for further expansion in the region,” Medicalgorithmics CEO Kris Siemionow said in a statement, according to PAP.

“There is plenty to compete for. The South American ECG services market is valued at just under $2.5bn, and in many countries, telemedicine is gaining momentum, supported by government investment,” Siemionow also said.

Sharp Tech is a Peruvian distributor of medical software and equipment. Medicalgorithmics did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement.

Medicalgorithmics is a Poland-based medical technology company specialising in cardiac diagnostics. The company develops software, algorithms and wearable devices used for remote monitoring and analysis of heart rhythm disorders, with a focus on long-term ECG diagnostics and telemedicine solutions.
