TORONTO, Oct. 28 /CNW/ -- Keynote speakers the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, and Mike Holmes, Canada's most trusted contractor and Host of 'Holmes Inspection', will help officially launch Skilled Trades and Technology Week 2009 at the grand opening of Humber's new Centre for Trades & Technology. Hosted by Skills/Compétences Canada, Skilled Trades and Technology Week (November 2 - 8, 2009) is an annual celebration that promotes and raises awareness of Skilled Trade and Technology careers in Canada.

Humber's 95,000 square foot centre offers students in skilled trade programs the opportunity to train in a state-of-the-art industry setting. The centre includes two full-sized townhomes and dedicated labs for construction, home renovation, plumbing, welding, electrical, woodworking and building systems.
