James Fisher Acquires Larger Premises for
Expanding Aberdeen Operations
Leading specialist shipping group James Fisher and Sons has
acquired new premises for its expanding operations in Aberdeen.
Co-located since 1998, subsidiaries James Fisher (Underwater
Engineering Services) Limited (UES) and James Fisher and Sons
(Seafloor Dynamex) Limited, both providers of supply services to
the offshore oil industry, are to move to a larger location during
the next two months.
Seafloor Dynamex provides specialist sub-sea excavation
equipment and expertise using a unique excavating tool developed
in-house. UES supplies a range of plant, equipment and
engineering services to the offshore industry both in the North
Sea and world-wide.
Commenting, David Cobb, Chairman of the James Fisher group,
said: 'Having come through a period of depressed activity in
the offshore market these companies are now seeing a recovery.
This tripling of our capacity gives us the perfect springboard
for growth. There are distinct signs of an improving demand
out there and we intend to meet it.'
James Fisher is the UK's largest operator of small to medium
sized clean product tankers and from its headquarters in
Barrow-in-Furness manages a fleet of 38 specialist vessels.
