Contract Signed for Electronic Interlocking System - Pilot Project in Poland
Kyosan Europe seeks to expand orders for Electronic Interlocking Systems in Poland
Kyosan Europe Sp. z o.o. (hereinafter, Kyosan Europe), a subsidiary of Kyosan Co., Ltd. has signed a contract with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. (Polish National Railways) for the Electronic Interlocking (hereinafter, EI) System pilot project for two stations.
This is the first contract for the EI system made in our group in the EU.
Kyosan Europe aims to obtain certification from the Office of Rail Transport (UTK) through this project and will use this as a stepping stone to expand orders for the EI system in Poland.
The EI system is a failsafe computerized controller that realize the interlocking function of signal apparatus and point machines necessary for safe train operation.
Our group's EI system have received SIL*4 certification, the international standard for safety. We have delivered them to more than 3,000 stations in Japan, India, Taiwan, China, and other countries around the world. They contribute to stable transportation in various countries and are highly regarded for their reliability.
Going forward, our group will continue to provide high-quality products and services that contribute to the improvement of transportation infrastructure around the world and to safety, security, and comfort.
- Safety Integrity Level (SIL) is a measure of safety levels defined by international standards. There are four levels from Level 1 to Level 4. Among these, SIL4 certification certifies that the highest safety level is secured. Certification of SIL4 compliance is required in many international bids as a qualification for bid participation.
