May 11, 2011 (TheNewswire.ca) --
King's Bay Gold Corporation (TSX.V: KBG) is pleased to announce that it has mobilized its geologist and drilling contractor to the Menary Property in order to commence the continuation of its diamond drilling of the Wagg Occurence its Menary Township, Ontario property. This program was stopped last November due to the onset of winter conditions after 6,230 feet of coring was completed. That program produced at least four drill holes with a number of gold intersections over an area of approximately 200 metres in width and to a depth of approximately 100 meters vertically.
This year's program intends to carry on with the sectioning of the surface quartz-carbonate vein structures to determine the character of the mineralisation and geological structure that cross-cuts the area around the Wagg Occurrence. The company intends to complete it's the contract started in June 2010 and continue exploring the remainder of the property by geological mapping and sampling.
The company also has plans to carry out further exploration work on its other Ontario properties including the Halkirk-Watten Township property near Fort Frances, the Brooks Lake-Dash Lake property near Sioux Narrows, the Raleigh Lake and the Sturgeon Lake properties near Ignace, Ontario.
Diamond drilling over the Wagg Occurrence has produced some positive results. Results for the better holes from the 16-hole program (Holes MIN-10-01 to MIN-10-16) follow below. True widths are not known at this point in time since geological interpretations are required and a further drill section is needed across the structure in order to characterize the zone.
D.H. MIN 10-01 - from 44.33-50.0 ft. (5.67 ft.) with a grade of 20.70 g/t in Gold
D.H. MIN 10-10 - from 13.2-16.3 ft. (3.1 ft.) with a grade of 1.63 g/t in Gold
from 37.4-49.5 ft. (12.1 ft.) with a grade of 17.15 g/t in Gold
D.H. MIN 10- 11- from 202.0-222.5 ft. (20.5 ft.) with a grade of 12.23 g/t in Gold
D.H. MIN 10-13 - from 7.0-10.5 ft. (3.5 ft.) with a grade of 2.45 g/t in Gold
D.H. MIN 10-16 - from 117.6-119.0 ft. (1.4 ft.) with a grade of 5.61 g/t in Gold
from 146.3-150.3 ft. (4.0 ft.) with a grade of 8.31 g/t in Gold
The above analytical work has been done at an accredited laboratory facility in Thunder Bay using the fire assay method. Half of the drill cores were sent in for analysis and the remaining cores are being stored and archived for future testing or verification.
All the drilling and field work has been supervised by the company's on-site geologist, Mr. Russell Crosby, M.Sc., P.Geo., acting as the Qualified Person (QP) as directed by the National Instrument 43-101 Guidelines.
